UV Unit Safety

** Prior to Beginning Installation Instructions **
Visually inspect the unit for a broken or cracked quartz tube - contact the dealer/manufacturer for replacement if quartz tube is broken.

FOR YOUR SAFETY - This product should be installed by a professional service technician or similar person who is qualified in electrical equipment installation. Improper installation and/or operation could cause serious personal injury, property damage or death. Improper installation and/or operation will void the limited warranty.

WARNING - When using this device, basic precautions should always be taken, including the following:

1. READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
2. DANGER: To reduce the risk of injury, do not permit children to use this device.
3. Use this device only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.
4. Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
5. This device contains an ultraviolet lamp that can cause discomfort, irritation, and damage to the eyes if viewing occurs while the device is in operation. Prolonged exposure to the eyes can cause serious injury to the eyes, including blindness. DO NOT VIEW UV LAMP WHILE THE DEVICE IS IN OPERATION.
6. The device must be connected only to a supply circuit that is protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). FAILURE TO CONNECT THIS DEVICE TO A GFCI SUPPLY CIRCUIT COULD RESULT IN ELECTRICAL SHOCK CAUSING SERIOUS BODILY INJRY, INCLUDING DEATH. The GFCI should be tested on a routine basis. To test the GFCI, push the test button. The GFSI should interrupt power. Push the reset button. Power should be restored. If the GFCI fails to operate in this manner, the GFCI is defective. If the GFCI interrupts power to the device without the test button being pushed, a ground current is flowing, indicating the possibility of an electric shock that could cause serious bodily injury, including death. Do not use this device. Disconnect the device and have the problem corrected by a qualified service representative before using.
7. CAUTION: THIS DEVICE IS FOR POOL USE ONLY. DO NOT USE THIS DEVICE FOR POTABLE (DRINKING) WATER SANITATION.
8. ENVIRONMENTAL NOTICE - Hg-Lamp CONTAINS MERCURY. Manage in accord with disposal laws. The recycling sources are www.lamprecycle.org or www.almr.org. Disposal/cleanup regulations as well as disposal sites vary widely by state and local municipalities.
9. WARNING: Never remove sealing cap while pump is running. Quartz sleeve could be forcefully ejected from unit and cause injury.
